World Cupping in Aspen

Being a soccer fan in Aspen can be a lonely road. The big Champion’s League semi-final between FC Barcelona and Inter Milan that had me glued to my computer screen a month ago? (Um…sorry, boss.) You’d be lucky to find five people who knew it was going on. Aspen feels as disinterested in soccer as the rest of America, despite its international flavor in winter. Until the World Cup, that is. Every four years, during the month that the tournament takes place, the valley’s soccer fans come out in force. Games are on TVs all over the valley.
