Bowling, Highlands-style

Growing up in Milwaukee, I had a lot of motivation to go bowling. You see…Milwaukee was the “Bowling Capitol of the World” and probably still is, unless some other Midwest town has grabbed the prestigious title. I had the iconic Echo Bowl nearby and plenty of bowling instruction and leagues to take advantage of throughout childhood in order to have fun and hone my skills. I honed my PBR beer-drinking skills at the same time!

Fast forwarding to my present healthy lifestyle in Aspen, there’s a whole new kind of “bowling” to be experienced, Aspen Highlands-style. Mtn. Biking Tips for Autumn

September and early October are my absolute favorite times of year for mountain biking. The gloriously golden fall colors splash across the mountainsides, the average temperature drops to an aerobically-comfy range and I have the singletracks all to myself.

It’s apparent why so many locals don’t like to tell visitors about early fall, our oh-so-sweet “sleeper season.” But the word about our amazing autumns has gotten out! I recently had the good fortune of meeting two brothers who not only share my enthusiasm for spectacular fall beauty and solitude but also a passion for mountain biking.
