All Things Sweet and Small
Aspen Highlands can now claim two year-round, mouth-watering offerings Aspen cannot.
In winter, Aspen Highlands draws steady crowds by boasting an attraction Aspen simply can’t match: Highland Bowl. But come summer, despite Highlands’ unique art galleries, tourists too often take a pass.
Now Highlands can claim two year-round offerings Aspen cannot—a world-class brownie maker and a shop featuring the latest Japanese-collectible craze. Cloud Nine Brownies’ owners Jill and Jim Pomeroy have been baking and distributing their nationally known confections from Aspen for close to a decade. At their new full-service café, fans can witness brownie-making magic in person, as well as grab coffees, breakfast breads and sandwiches.
At POP, an eclectic storefront opened by LivAspenArt’s Olivia Daane Reische, you can purchase Iwako erasers, the mini-toys sweeping Japan at a Pokemon-like pace. POP also sells oxygen at a buck a minute; coconut-oil (i.e. “healthy”) popcorn; dye-free, raw-sugar cotton candy; lollipops and organic cupcakes.
Now all Highlands needs is a dentist.
